Computer virus and Cheesy Egg Rice-noodle Pancakes

March 7, 2011

Hi guys!

One week left until I have to go to school again, because there are currently winter vacation here in Germany ^^ And you know what? Yesterday, I spent approximately 8 hours in front of my computer in order to get the crack version of “Adobe CS 5 Master Collection” which actually costs about 3000€ (= 4200$). Of course I don’t want to encourage you to do that illegal stuff, but in my case I really needed that programs and my family just can’t afford to spend thousands of euros for a software, so I had no other choice 😦 Β  And man, I can tell you, although I was successful in the end, my head was just about to explode, because there were sooooo many fake downloads, viruses and that kind of stuff, I could have gone wild at any time o.O !!! In fact the program works fine, but my only objection is that I wasn’t able to delete 2 Trojans in time, so my PC has got some problems with the internet now and the system can’t boot correctly. Obviously, I have to go to a specialist next week so that he can fix it. Conclusion: Everything comes at a price, right? πŸ˜‰

By the way, I would be very interested in knowing, if you ever had gone through that sort of problem as well? Β If so, please feel free to tell me how it went out ^^.

My mom eating the Cheesy-egg-rice-noodle-pancakes

But of course, this is not a blog about my computer worries, so the main reason for this post is that I wanted to share one of my mom’s favourite recipe: Cheesy-egg-rice-noodle-pancakes!

Since my mom really likes that dish, I decided to surprise her when she comes back from her work. Besides there were some rice noodles (aka Pho) left already, so it wasn’t a big challenge to prepare the pancakes πŸ˜‰ I recommend you to use very thin Vietnamese rice noodles (Pho) and not the thick ones or else the texture might turn out not to be tender enough. In my case, I used quick-cooking Pho noodles which you only have to soak in boiled water for 3-5 mins.

And have fun with the recipe πŸ™‚ !

Ingredients: ( for one 11.o2-inch-long pancake)

cooked Pho rice-noodles (complied 100 gr raw noodles = 2 packages instant Pho)

2 eggs, lightly beaten

1 slice processed cheese, torn to pieces

6 tbsp fish sauce

1 tbsp oil

a bit curry powder

a pinch of sugar

some dehydrated dill

ketchup or sweet chilli sauce (optional)

  1. Combine egg mixture with cheese, fish sauce, oil, curry powder, sugar and dill. Stir well.
  2. Pour everything over the cooked noodles and make sure that the noodles don’t stick together too much and mix well.
  3. Heat a non-stick frying pan and add about 2-3 tbsp oil.
  4. Put the noodles in the pan and try to get a pancake-like shape.
  5. Reduce heat and let it cook for about 4-5 mins until you think you are able to flip over your pancake.
  6. Let the other sides cook for 3-4 mins as well.
  7. Finally, cut into pieces and serve either with ketchup or sweet chilli sauce.

    Oh this sounds so yummy.
I think I should definitely try it out, πŸ™‚
Ah and maybe there’s a cheaper solution to your problem with the virus. Have you tried to reset your pc yet? Maybe if you reset it to an earlier time in past there could be the chance that the viruses would dissapear.
    Just an idea πŸ˜€

Hi timo πŸ™‚ How do you do?

thx for your comment, hope the dish will be to your liking ^^

Regarding my pc problem, in fact the virus is already dead, but I deleted it too late, so it has already damaged my PC. Of course I could just try to reinstall Windows, but then my precious “Adobe CS5 Master collection” which took me 8 hours would also be gone 😦
I hope I will be able to avoid that solution process and besides I know a person who is very good in that kind of IT-stuff, maybe he can help me πŸ˜€

But thank you all the same!

        Hey I’m fine, thanks πŸ˜€
        And you?
Just have to buy the ingredients ^^
Thereby I recognize that it would be an awesome idea to cook it one day for my host-family. I think they would really much appreciate it.

Oh anyway I wish you good look.

Keep going. You could become famous =)
Hehe Minh Ha 5 star cook

        Thx timo xD

Cool, I hope it will be a success. If not, there is still the possibility to blame me for my recipe, haha ^^

Unfortunately, I think I will only become famous in my own imagination, but nevertheless I try to keep giving my best for sure πŸ˜‰

This is a very interesting recipe…! I like pancakes, so I can imagine that I would love this too. But this dish doesn’t sound too Vietnamese because of the addition of cheese. Did your mum create this recipe herself :)?

I am not good at IT, so unfortunately can’t help much, but don’t you think that it’s a very good idea to tell the world wide web that you have downloaded something illegally…?? *confused * ;)!

Yes, you are right ^^ My mom changed the original recipe according to her taste.

That’s right too, I didn’t think about that fact at all. But it doesn’t matter anymore, because my acquaintance said there is no other way than reinstalling the whole PC, so my precious program will be lost either way πŸ˜₯
Besides there are plenty of people who also say that right out in the open, so I think it won’t endanger me πŸ˜‰
But thx for your concern ^^
